Birthed by the Entity Asenica, the Firstborn are Entities born as immortals and given land on the planet Legaia to guide the mortals living there. As such, the Firstborn are only incorporeal when their bodies are killed. It is possible that the Firstborn were created to offer suitable bodies for the reformation of the Essences scattered during the Shen Incident. All of the Firstborn were born with Entity status, though those found to be Essences have shed the Entity title with reformation.

There is another that few consider to be Firstborn born to Shepsada. She had been denied involvement and went about creating a child anyway. This went poorly. The child went on to live solitarilly near the Northern Firstcomers. He is not truely a Firstborn.
