Greater Essences

In the beginning, Toan (Time) and Starfire (Existance) gained a sense of self in nothingness and worked together to create everything else. They chose to bring forth Nalatos (Emotion) and Rell (Thought), as they realized the two together were the manifestation of immortal self and awareness. Both would be needed to create any further being. Starfire decided to remove himself from most emotion so that his judgement would not be clouded by it, whereas Toan chose not to put one over the other so that he could best relate with their creation.

Next came Trae (Conflict), Banell (Physicality), and Byzentine (Life), required to put creatures upon the worlds they had created. Lastly, they created Diashen (Morality) and Shin (Death), both as control measures over their creation.

When they were finished, they split Talos (Magic) and Thaos (Power) from themselves. They had been given conciousness earlier when they had been recognized with Nalatos and Rell, but it was easier for Toan and Starfire to do things directly at that point with such major assets.

Lesser Essences

Byzentine split from herself Than (Healing) and Lunara (Soul). These three together are divine magic.

Talos split from himself Fah (Fire), Liq (Water), Weh (Wind) and Terra (Earth). These are arcane magic.
