Zandaeyl lived in Sarielle's Song for most of his life. His parents had been traveling bards but chose to settle there when his mother, Dianis, became pregnant. He was raised in a musical household. When he was a young man, his parents bid him farewell, choosing to travel once more. He never saw them again, but he beleived they simply moved on. He also traveled for a while, but he returned home as he was happier within the village than the road.
He took many lovers but never found the 'right' one, choosing to continue his free lifestyle. That changed when he got one of his admirers, Sintami, pregnant. She died birthing his son, Lindaeyl.
Zandaeyl reigned himself in and took care of the baby with some help from others in the village. As the child grew, he included the boy in his bardic lifestyle and eventually some of his more mischeivious activities. He became very close to his son.
He once lamented to Lindaeyl that he wished they could do something about everyone 'being in danger all the time'.
When the orcs came to Sarielle's Song, Zandaeyl was one of only four that fought. Whereas Lindaeyl also chose to fight, his father pushed him off the side of a cliff face into the Serpentine River. His last words were called down to his son "You need to live. Just trust me. I believe in you."
Zandaeyl had only basic hunting skills and stood no chance against the hardened orc warriors. His actions sparked Lindaeyl's vow to "Protect the Elven People" and form the L'Sheriss Empire.
